I make portraits using words and photos. A full catastrophe portrait is a story messy and real. You know. Just how it happened.

“Oh” said Rachel as we coffeed up “so you’re a portrait artist, who uses words instead of paint”

Rachel is an artist herself, and she reminded me that we rarely see ourselves the way others do.

She’s right though. A full catastrophe portrait is a biography — your life, or someone you love, told in words and photographs.

It’s my take on the moments that mattered deeply. The ones that defined you.

I make two types. One captures a chapter. The other, the whole nine yards.

I’m telling my own story in much the same way I’d tell yours. Messy and honest. With love and laughter.

There’s no other way.

Celebrate the chaos of life that it invariably is.
